3rd i Films joins a day-long schedule of South Asian Cultural events for spring at the Palo Alto Art Center. The program is presented in partnership with the Society for Art & Cultural Heritage of India (SACHI) and the Palo Alto Art Center (PAAC).

Join us for an afternoon of hands-on artmaking projects, with a musical performance, a film screening, and a scavenger hunt, at the Palo Alto Art Center! Activities are appropriate for ages 5 through adult.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
12:30 p.m. Film screening: The World of Goopi and Bagha (Goopi Gawaiya, Bagha Bajaiya), 79 minutes, English subtitles.
An animated adaptation of one of Indian master Satyajit Ray’s most beloved works, this colorful film follows the hilarious misadventures of Goopi and Bagha, two tuneless musicians banished from their villages for their cacophonous music. Presented at the 3rd i SF International South Asian Film Festival 2017.
2-4 p.m. Artmaking activities led by Art Center teaching artists: Sari Squares, Elegant Elephants, and Luminous Landscapes
3 p.m. Raavan – Retelling of an Indian epic
Staged reading based on the epic Indian poem Ramayana.
4-4:30 p.m. Live performance with Stanford Raagapella
Stanford Raagapella, Stanford’s South-Asian-focused a cappella group, captures the essence and emotion of music from South Asia to share with people of all cultures.
